Buckets and Barrels

 Before the advent of plastics, many utility containers were made of wood. In the kitchen were wood water buckets, wood containers for dried food and barrels of various sizes for oil or other liquids. Nowadays the modern household is filled with plastic containers of every style and shape, and why not, they are easy to clean, cheap, and some actually don't look too bad. But, if you want the home to have a bit of rustic character, without actually having to go back to that, try adding some wood furnishings to give that special feeling. Water Pail This coopered pail is very similair to the kitchen pail of many years ago. Designed to fetch and carry water or other liquids.
Vintage '49 Water Pail The same design wood bucket as the above water pail, but made from very special red cedar, grown here on Southern Vancouver Island.  The logs were cut in 1949 and stored air dry since then. The wood has aged from the distinctive natural orange into lighter hues of pink,  light orange, to light brown. The sweet cedar scent is just as strong as ever. I have a limited supply of this very unique wood and am making  various size water pails from this.

Classic Sauna Pail The traditional Sauna Pail designed the same as from Finland.
Beverage Barrel A small barrel, 1 1/2 gal, designed to hold the "bag in a box" juice or wine containers.
Aphid Predator Nest Box Home for a tiny flying predator which lives on aphids. Great for the garden.
Custom Cooperage Individual pieces designed and created to show off characteristics of the wood
