What are settings to configure my email client?

Here is the configuration information for connecting to any islandnet.com based email account.

Incomming Mail Server: mail.islandnet.com

IMAP Port: 143
or
POP3 Port: 110

Not sure what what to use? See note at the end of this article.

If SSL is on (Recommended for wifi connected devices that will use public connections)

IMAP Port: 993
or
POP3 Port: 995

Outgoing Mail Server: mail.islandnet.com

SMTP Port: 25 or Port 587 (Recommended)

(We also allow connection on 2525 as some connection providers block port 25 and some public wifi connections will even block 587)

If SSL is on:

(Recommended for wifi connected devices that will use public connections)

SMTP Port: 465

SMTP Authentication: Password (Use same settings as incomming or re-enter username and password, these are NOT optional, sending will not work)

Username: Account name (or Full email if virtual account)
Password: You should know it.

All of these settings are case sensitive.

Note:IMAP Can store much more mail on the server, by default it wil syncronise all local mail to the server including all sub folders, be aware this contributes to disk usage so adopt a process of archiving off older email onto local folders or use an auto archive function if your client supports it, Thunderbird had an addon available to do it and Outlook has it built in on recent versions. Alternatively use POP3.
